The Texas Rangers swept the Boston Red Sox over the weekend in Arlington behind solid pitching all weekend long. The Rangers dropped two out of three games midweek to the Chicago White Sox and came back to sweep the Red Sox out of the best record in the American League.

Now Texas and Boston currently hold the best record in the AL at 20-11 with the Detroit Tigers not far behind. The Rangers play a makeup game tonight in Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs.

The Houston Astros have fallen harder times the past week and were swept in four games by the Tigers. The low point of the season may have hit on May 5th as they were almost no-hit by Justin Verlander.

Houston held a players only meeting after the game and losing for the 24th time in 32 games this season can cause such a meeting to be called this early in the year.

The San Antonio Spurs made short work of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Playoffs and have had eight days off. The Golden State Warriors upset the Denver Nuggets in six games winning the series 4-2 behind salty play from Stephen Curry.
