According to Major League Baseball, Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish holds a narrow lead in the on-line voting for the final spot on the American League All-Star team.

The league didn’t provide voting totals in its announcement, but knew that the Japan import was atop the chart.

Chicago White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy is second, followed by Baltimore right-hander Jason Hammel, right-hander Ernesto Frieri of the Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City right-hander Jonathan Broxton.

Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones leads the National League contest.

Voting ends on Thursday at 3 p.m. central.
