Red Raider football fans received some good news Monday afternoon as it was announced Texas Tech’s September 8th road game against Texas State with air on ESPN 3 with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT.

There had been discussion that the game would be carried on the Longhorn Network

Here’s the press release from Texas State’s website.

ESPN has confirmed that the Texas Tech-Texas State game on Saturday, Sept. 8 will be shown on ESPN3. The game will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will mark the first game in the new Bobcat stadium.

The WAC earlier this month released its ESPN schedule for the 2012 football season, but had two games listed as TBD. The Nevada-Texas State game on Saturday, Sept. 29, will also be shown on an ESPN network, but that platform is still to be determined at a later date.

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a 24/7 destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold level members. It is currently available to 73 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks.
