A 59-44 home victory over Kansas State on Saturday gave Texas Tech its sixth win of the year and has made the Red Raiders bowl game eligible. It also exorcised some demons plaguing Kliff Kingsbury and his coaching staff.

With the games left in the last three weeks in the season, Tech could finish anywhere from 4th to 6th in the Big 12. There are six available bowl game that can be attainable for Big 12 contestants.

If a Big 12 Team makes the CFP, then everyone would move up. Theoretically, Tech could sneak into the bowl allotted to the second Big 12 school.

For now, let's look at some of the more intriguing story lines that could pit Hollywood level foes against each other.

Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl, Dallas, Texas, Dec. 26, 2015 Big 12 vs. Conference USA

  • Texas Tech vs. LA Tech - The least intriguing matchup would be LA Tech, but with the teams playing again in the regular season in 2016 it would make that matchup a little more intense.

AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl, Houston, Texas, Dec. 29, 2015 (Big 12 vs. SEC)

  • Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M - Former Big 12 foes. The student and the teacher. This game is ripe with story lines that bowl programmers are craving for.

Autozone Liberty Bowl, Memphis, Tenn., Jan. 2, 2015 (Big 12 vs. SEC)

  • Texas Tech vs. Arkansas - Bielema vs Kingsbury III. The War on the Mississippi. The rubber match. I think everyone wants Tech to beat Arkansas one more time. Arkansas is playing much better as of late but the rematch would be so sweet.

Cactus Bowl, Phoenix, Ariz., Jan. 2, 2015 (Big 12 vs. Pac-12)

  • Texas Tech vs. Washington State - If you are unaware, Washington State is lead at the helm of their ship by former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach. They are 7-3 in a muddled Pac-12. If Tech beats Texas this matchup is very likely. Talk about media hype. The Bro versus the Pirate would be a classic showdown that would be a legendary match up that would end in an over/under that would make other over/unders blush. Please football gods, make this happen.

Other potential, but far less likely match-ups: LSU, Arizona State, Western Kentucky, North Carolina or Florida State.

Any of the outlined games would be amazing and have very well-covered bowl games, which only helps the program.

Any bowl game will be a positive. Extra practice and exposure never hurt. But I'm hoping for one of these match-ups.

Bowl pairings will be announced on College Football Selection Day, Sunday, December 7.
