The Texas Tech Red Raider basketball team will try to build off of their first conference win as they hit the road tonight to battle Iowa State at 7. The Red Raiders and the Cyclones will be meeting for the 19th time in the all time series.

The Red Raiders enter the game coming off their first conference win over Nebraska last Saturday night. Tech beat the Cornhuskers 72-71 on a last second tip in from D’wayln Roberts. The win broke their 4 game losing streak this season and their 11 game conference losing streak that dated back to last February 13th with Texas A&M.

Tonight’s match up will feature a pair of teams that are riding the bottom of the Big 12 standings. The Red Raiders enter the game at 9-11 on the season and are 1-4 in the Big 12 conference. The Cyclones enter the game at 14-6 on the season but are only 1-4 in the Big 12. The loser of tonight’s game will have the worst conference record in the Big 12.

Tonight’s game will also be the 19th meeting between the two teams with the record being tied at 9-9. Both teams are 6-2 at home, and both have one win on a neutral site.

After tonight’s game, the Red Raiders will return home for a pair of home match ups. Texas Tech will open their two game home stand with Oklahoma State on Saturday at 3, from the United Spirit Arena. Tech will then have on of their biggest match ups of the season on Tuesday February 1st, when they play host to Kansas at 8.
