The Big 12 leading Red Raiders are in Fort Worth this weekend to due battle with 2nd place TCU.

Texas Tech is 13-2 in the conference with a 5-1 road mark, while TCU holds a 10-5 conference record and a sparkling 6-0 record at home. The two teams are showing there dominance in the stat sheets as well, leading the conference standings in hitting and filling the top 3 in overall pitching.

This is an evenly matched series, with both teams suffering Big 12 setbacks last weekend and looking to be in a great position to win the Big 12 with only nine games remaining.

The projected pitching rotation is Davis Martin (6-0, 2.39 ERA) on Friday night, Steven Gingery (3-1, 3.25 ERA) on Saturday and Ty Damron (3-1, 5.89 ERA) projected to take the bump on Sunday.

TCU will counter with, Dalton Horton (7-0, 2.12 ERA), Brian Howard (5-2, 3.88 ERA) and Rex Hill (2-2, 5.40 ERA) in that order of the weekend.

Of course, college pitching rotations are fluid, but as of now those are the matchups.

As with most Big 12 weekends, the Friday night matchup is the most intriguing with the ace freshman of Texas Tech going into the Horned Frogs lily pad to knock off the TCU ace freshman.

It's not often a Big 12 matchup has dueling freshmen battling with so much on the line.
