Texas Tech and the University of Houston Have Agreed to a Four Game Series Starting in 2017

Texas Tech University and the University of Houston have agreed to a four game series starting in 2017 and extending through 2022.

The teams use to meet as conference opponents when both teams were in Southwest Conference back in the 90′s but have only met up twice since the conference broke apart.  In 2010 these teams met up as the Red Raiders defeated a Kevin Sumlin led squad by a score of 35-20.  Head coach Kliff Kingsbury was on that Houston staff as the offensive coordinator.

Now the match up will begin in Houston on September 16, 2017, then switch to Lubbock in 2018.  Tech and Houston will then take a two year break and then resume their series for the final two games in Houston in 2021 and finish it up in 2022 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
