The Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball team was win-less in the month of April going into the series finale against the Kansas Jayhawks.

Texas Tech Baseball broke an eight-game losing streak  defeating the Kansas Jayhawks 16-5 at Rip Griffin Park Sunday. Tim Proudfoot hit a grand-slam homerun in the eighth inning to give Tech the run-rule victory.

The Jayhawks took leads of 3-0 and 5-4 in the game's first three innings before the Red Raiders would rattle off 12 unanswered runs to power past Kansas.

The 16 runs and 18 hits are both season highs for the Red Raiders in 2013 and came at a time when Tech scored 32 runs in the eight-game losing streak while giving up 80 to their opponents.

The Red Raiders improve their 18-22 on the season and 5-10 in the Big 12. Tech returns to action tomorrow as they host New Mexico State.
