Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball used a six run sixth inning to out duel the Florida International Panthers 8-6 Tuesday afternoon in Florida.

The Red Raiders (5-4) avoided going 0-5 while visiting Florida for the UCF Tournament and two-game series against the Panthers (7-2).

The Red Raiders were led by Tyler Nelson at plate going 2 for 5 with 3 RBI in the game to help Texas Tech emerge over the .500 mark  and break a four game losing streak.

Jonny Drozd earned the winning decision on the mound pitching five innings, giving up four runs on ten hits.

Texas Tech returns to the diamond Friday hosting LaSalle for a three-game series at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
