Texas Tech Baseball Falls to No. 13 Arizona State 8-5, Tech Starts Series Against Baylor Tonight
Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball fell in their final midweek contest of the regular season last night. The Red Raiders fell to No. 13 Arizona State 8-5 in Tempe, Arizona.
Jake Barrios plated three runs for the Red Raiders going 1 for 4 while Brett Bell and Bryant Burleson had multi-hit games as Tech raced out to a 5-0 lead before the Sun Devils scored eight unanswered runs.
Matt Withrow threw three innings to start the game giving up four runs earning the no-decision on the mound.
The loss drops Tech to 23-27 on the season. Tech returns to the diamond tonight as they host the Baylor Bears to start a Big 12 Conference series. First pitch tonight is at 6:37.
Tech needs two wins against Baylor to clinch a spot in the Big 12 Tournament and to eliminate the Texas Longhorns from making the tournament.
