The Texas Tech baseball team lined up Tuesday evening at Reckling Park in Houston to take on the #22 Rice Owls.  The Red Raiders looked to end a six game losing skid but the Owls were having none of it.

The Owls routed Texas Tech with a final score of 11-2 while holding the Red Raiders to only two hits on the night.  Tech only scored two runs on two hits, as Devon Conley ended Rice's no-hitter bid in the 7th inning. That was about all the offense the Red Raiders could muster. The two runs scored were off of two Rice errors.

Starting pitcher, Justin Bethard took the loss for Tech while Austin Kubitza was awarded the win for the Owls.  The Red Raider pitching staff was forced to use seven different arms in the loss.

The loss drops Texas Tech to 17-20 on the season and also marks their seventh loss in as many games.  The Red Raiders will try to get back on track this weekend with a three game series against the Kansas Jayhawks.  First pitch is scheduled for Friday, April 19th at Dan Law Field in Rip Griffin Park with game time set to start at 6:37 pm.  You can watch that game on FOX College Sports.
