The Texas Tech baseball team surprised more than a few fans as they pulled the upset of the 5th ranked Texas A&M 4-3 last night in 12 innings. Last night's win marked the first extra inning win over the Aggies since 1998.

The Red Raiders secured their 20th win of the season thanks to Kelby Tomlinson's 12th inning infield single. The win improved Tech to 20-11 on the season and 5-5 in Big 12 play. Texas A&M dropped to 22-8 on the year and 7-3 in the Big 12.

Junior right hander John Neely claimed his 8th win on the season last night after he failed the maintain the hold in the 9th inning. Neely closed out the game for his NCAA best 8th win to move him to 8-0 on the year.

Texas Tech will look to extend their three game winning streak when they play their second game of the three game series today. First pitch between the Red Raiders and the Aggies is set for 5.
