Friday afternoon, #5 Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball played their first of two doubleheaders against Northern Illinois University as part of the Brooks Wallace Memorial Series.

The Red Raiders swept the first doubleheader winning 8-0 and 5-0. With the two wins, Texas Tech's record is now (6-1).

In the first game, Ryan Mosley (pictured) pitched six shutout innings to pick up the win.  Mosley gave up four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in his time on the mound.

Texas Tech 3B Orlando Garcia went 4-for-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI. Also, contributing with the bat was 1B Eric Gutierrez. Gutierrez picked up his fourth double of the season and he had 3 RBI.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Cameron Smith got the start for the Red Raiders. He earned the win as he pitched five shutout innings, gave up five hits and got three strikeouts. Dominic Moreno pitched the final four innings of the game and earned a save.

The biggest bunch of scoring for Texas Tech came from Cory Raley. He hit a bases loaded double in the fifth inning, scoring Stephen Smith, Tyler Neslony and Gutierrez.

Texas Tech and NIU wrap up the four-game series on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 12 Noon.
