Chris Walker and the Texas Tech men’s basketball team suffered their first loss of the season falling short to No. 9 Arizona Saturday night inside the United Spirit Arena 85-57.

The Red Raiders kept its close early before Arizona took a 45-28 lead into the half, and blew it completely open in the second half for the comfortable win.

Tech's first-half points were a season low.

Nick Johnson paced the Wildcats with 18 points, while Solomon Hill and Mark Lyons each added 14. Kaleb Tarczewski grabbed 13 rebounds for Arizona which improved to 5-0 with the win.

Jaye Crockett lead Tech with 12 points as the Red Raiders fell to 4-1.

The glass played a big role in determining the winner as the Wildcats out rebounded the Red Raiders 41 to 26, leading to 16 second-chance points.
