Texas Tech head men’s basketball coach Billy Gillispie has begun putting his mark on the Red Raiders with the signing of standouts Jaron Nash and Kader Tapsoba from Tyler Junior College.

Nash is a 6-8 forward from Waterloo, Iowa and will come to Texas Tech as a sophomore with three years of eligibility after recently completing his freshman season at Tyler Junior College.  He averaged 11 points-per-game along with 4.3 rebounds during his redshirt freshman season with the Apaches.

Tapsoba is a 6-10 center from Burkina Faso, Africa and averaged 6.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game as a sophomore and will have two years of eligibility remaining at Texas Tech. Tapsoba was also a standout in the classroom being named to the 2010 Distinguished Academic All-American.
