Texas Tech cornerback Jeremy Reynolds is done for the season after suffering a knee injury Saturday against New Mexico.

Texas Tech spokesman Blayne Beal issued the announcement Monday.

Reynolds suffered the injury while covering a kick-off during the Red Raiders 49-14 routing of the Lobos.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound redshirt freshman made his first career interception the week prior against Texas State.

The Red Raiders are in their bye week, and will return to the gridiron on Sept. 29 at Iowa State to open Big 12 play. Both the Cyclones and Texas Tech enter the game unbeaten at 3-0 on the year.

The conference opener for both teams has been scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on Fox College Sports.
