Texas Tech took their second game Sunday afternoon with a 10-4 victory over Northern Illinois in the third day of the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Texas Tech had their highest run total and base hit total of the young season with 10 and 15 respectively. Junior left handed pitcher pitched six inning, giving up four runs on eight base hits and two walks, but also struck out seven batters. Jamen Parten earned his first career save pitching three perfect innings to finish the game.

Scott LeJeune lit the world on fire going 4-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Jamodrick McGruder also had a solid game going 3-4 with a triple and a run scored, while stealing his 59th career base which leads all active Big 12 players.

The Red Raiders are currently 7-1 on the season.
