Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball won for the fourth time in the last five games as they defeated the Utah Valley Wolverines 9-2 last night at Rip Griffin Park.

Jonny Drozd earned his second win of the season throwing seven shutout innings and amassing ten strikeouts. Drozd threw 4 1/3 perfect innings to start the game.

Brett Bell, Tim Proudfoot, and Jake Barrios drove three runs a piece in the victory. The Red Raiders plated runs in the second, third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings to earn the victory.

The Wolverines would have a short lived rally in the ninth inning when trailing 9-0 as they would score two runs before Johnathon Tripp would settle down to end the game.

The Red Raiders and Wolverines play game two today at 6:30 p.m.
