The Texas Tech men’s basketball team fell to 2-12 in Big 12 play last night as they could not knock off the no. 20 ranked Baylor Bears. 

Tubby Smith and company struggled to score once again as they were held under 50 points on Tuesday nights for the fifth time this season. Tech fell by a final score of 54-49, dropping them to 12-15 on the season.

Taurean Prince helped Baylor build a 34-26 halftime lead as he scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half.  Devaugntah Williams led Tech in scoring as he poured in 15 points along with three steals in the loss.

Texas Tech scored 16 points off of 16 turnovers by Baylor and outscored the Bears 12-4 on second-chance points.

The Red Raiders "do a great job being active, just not giving you good looks, contesting shots on the penetration," Baylor coach Scott Drew said.  "They compete. Coach (Tubby) Smith does a great job always getting them to do that."

The Red Raiders will have to shake this loss off as they have another top 20 ranked team coming to Lubbock. They welcome no. 17 Oklahoma to town this coming Saturday as they will try and avenge their worst loss of the year.

Tech fell 81-36 in Norman to the Sooners back on January 28which was their lowest scoring output of the year thus far.  Tip off for that game is set for an early start at 11 a.m. and can be seen on ESPNews.
