Texas Tech Falls to DePaul 76-70 in Old Spice Classic

Texas Tech Men’s Basketball dropped their second consecutive game of the season to Big East foe DePaul 76-70 Friday afternoon in the consolation bracket of the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

JUCO transfer Ty Nurse led Texas Tech (3-2) with 19 points along with another solid effort by freshmen forward Jordan Tolbert with 16 points and 8 rebounds. DePaul was led by Cleveland Melvin who dropped in 25 points for the Blue Demons.

Texas Tech led the Blue Demons 37-36 at halftime, but came out flat in the second half and lost the lead 2 minutes in the second half.

Texas Tech was sloppy on the offensive end of the court as they had another game with over 20 turnovers in the 5th game of the young season for the new look Red Raiders.

The Red Raiders have tomorrow off in the Old Spice Classic before finishing the tournament Sunday against an opponent to be determined.
