The Texas Tech Red Raiders will play Ole Miss on September 1st, 2018 in the Advocare Classic in Houston, Texas.

This will be the first regular season match up since 2003 between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

"We're excited to return to Houston and take part in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff," said Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt. "The support of Red Raider Nation helped set a new Texas Bowl attendance record in our last trip to Houston, so we look forward to NRG Stadium being filled with scarlet and black once again to kick off the 2018 season."

The Red Raiders are 2-3 lifetime against the Rebels, with the last match up coming in the 2009 Cotton Bowl. Texas Tech lost that game 47-34.

The Ole Miss addition adds to the string of quality opponents Texas Tech will play in the near future. Texas Tech now has agreements to play a power-five conference member in seven of the next eight seasons. Those Power 5 agreements include Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon and N.C. State.
