The Texas Tech football team earned a spot in the USA Today poll after starting this season 4-0.  Its the first time the Red Raiders been ranked since October 23, 2011 when Texas Tech was ranked No. 19 after upsetting then No. 1 Oklahoma.

Texas Tech comes in at No. 24 in the USA Today poll and received 39 votes in the Associated Press poll.  The ranking will set up the first Top 25 matchup for Texas Tech since the 2008 Cotton Bowl when they played then ranked No. 20 Mississippi.  Oklahoma comes in ranked No.14 in the USA Today poll/No. 17 in the Associated Press poll.

Saturdays game with the Sooners will kick off at 2:30 PM from Jones AT&T Stadium.
