Texas Tech Football Helmets Move from ‘Bass Boat Glitter’ to ‘Red Stripe’ [POLL]

An innocent tweet on a Saturday night in the middle of basketball season got Texas Tech Football fans buzzing. The tweet featured two new helmets for Texas Tech Football. They can be seen below.

Continuing the trend started under former head coach, Tommy Tuberville, Texas Tech will have a black and white helmet.

Red Stripe, Facebook

The helmets remind me of a bottle of Red Stripe, not that there’s anything wrong with that. However, I’ve preferred the black ‘bass boat glitter’ helmets Texas Tech has worn over the past decade.  The multi-stripe white helmets worn over the past few years were too reminiscent of Auburn.

I would have liked to see a red helmet for 2013. That would have been different, at the least.

So, do you like the ‘Red Stripe’ Texas Tech helmets?
