Texas Tech Football Moves Season Opener Against SMU

Texas Tech Football’s season opener has been moved up a day.
The Texas Tech-SMU game to be played in Dallas on August 31st will now be played on Friday, August 30th. The game was moved to accommodate an ESPN broadcast at 7 p.m.
The last time the Red Raiders played on Friday night was in 2002 when they defeated the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque 49-0. That was in Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury’s senior season with Tech.
