The season opener for Texas Tech Red Raider Football has been selected for a televised broadcast.

The Red Raiders game against Northwestern State on September 1st will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus for a 6 p.m. CDT kickoff in Lubbock at Jones AT&T Stadium.

The last time Texas Tech and Northwestern State played was in September of 2007 when the Red Raiders defeated the Demons 75-7.

The other non-conference game Tech is hosting on September 15th against the New Mexico Lobos will be televised on Fox College Sports at 6 p.m. CDT.

Tech defeated UNM last season in Albuquerque 59-13 where Red Raider Quarterback Seth Doege set an NCAA record for completion percentage in a game at 90% (40-44).

The lone non-conference road game for the Red Raiders is September 8th in San Marcos against the Texas State Bobcats.

The game against the Bobcats will be televised online via ESPN3 at espn.com for a 6 p.m. CDT kickoff from newly renovated Bobcat Stadium.

Texas State led the Red Raiders 10-9 at halftime last season in Lubbock before Tech scored 41 unanswered points in the second half to prevail 50-10 in the 2011 season opener.
