According to texastech.com, Grant Little has been named Freshman All-American by the National College Baseball Writer's Association. He's the eighth Freshman to get the honors in Tim Tadlock's tenure.

The last Fresman to nab the an All-American honor from the NCBWA was Davis Martin who got the nomination last season.

Little also was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, Big 12 Player of the week and All-Big 12 Freshman of the Week. Little appeared in 53 games leading the team in multi-hit games. Little ended his season with a .335 average with 69 hits. He also scored 52 runs while providing the Red Raiders with 34 RBI.

In conference action Little hit .333 with a .513 slugging percentage. He also put up 26 hits and nine doubles along with a triple and a home run.

Little is the second Texas Tech Freshman to receive All-American honors in 2017, after Josh Jung nabbed his honors from the College Baseball Newspaper last week.
