Texas Tech Heads to Stillwater to Take on Oklahoma State
The Texas Tech men’s basketball team is trying to get back in the win column when they make the trip up to Stillwater, Oklahoma. This game will have a little more edge to it than usual as Oklahoma State’s guard Marcus Smart will return to the court after his three game suspension. Smart was suspended for pushing a Texas Tech fan back on February 8th and has not played since. In that game Tubby Smith and company were able to hold on in Lubbock by a final score of 65-61.
That brings us to Saturday’s matchup. Both these teams will be looking to get back on track as Oklahoma State comes in on a seven game losing streak. Their last win came back on January 25th with a 81-75 win over West Virginia. As for the Red Raiders they are also on a losing streak although it is just two games. They will be trying to bounce back after a tough last second loss to #8 Kansas this week.
Now with a win over the Cowboys, Texas Tech would at least be tied for seventh place in the Big 12 and move to two games under .500 at 6-8 in conference play. It would be the first time since 2008 that the Red Raiders have won six conference games in a season. Tip off for Saturday’s game is set for 12:30pm from Stillwater, Oklahoma as Tech looks to win in Gallagher-Iba Arena the first time since 2003.
