Texas Tech Football has made its most dangerous hire yet, and his name is Rusty Whitt.

Rusty Whitt is probably most famous for headbutting a player who had a helmet on and then letting the blood rain down his face. The blood and the sunglasses he was wearing made for a very intimidating scene, which is why he was voted "Most Intimidating Strength and Conditioning Coach in Football."

Whitt held the strength and conditioning coach position since 2010 for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns and has been hired for a similar position at Texas Tech. Before coaching, he earned his undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University, where he played football, and received his graduate degree from Texas. Whitt has also worked at Rice and Sam Houston State.

After the September 11th terror attacks, Whitt was called to action and joined the Army, where he served from 2003 to 2009. He was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom V and VI.

Intimidating is not a word often associated with Texas Tech or coach Kliff Kingsbury for that matter. It's obvious what Kingsbury is doing with this hire, and I love it.

Whitt is a notorious badass who holds toughness and loyalty as two of his greatest attributes. For a program that lacks toughness on defense and at the end of games offensively, Whitt could be a missing piece for Kingsbury and the Red Raiders making the jump from the bottom of the Big 12 to the top.

One thing's for sure: The stairs at The Jones are about to be used a whole lot more.
