For the first time in program history, the Texas Tech Lady Raider Tennis squad can call themselves Big 12 champions.

With some help from the Oklahoma State Cowboys and their stunning win over No.6 Texas, the Lady Raiders took down Iowa State to win the championship.  To put in perspective how huge of a win this was for the program, it was Tech's first team oriented title since the year 2000, and the first conference championship in program history.

In discussing the win, head coach Todd Petty said, "These girls have put in the time, This is not a fluke. We started this out two years ago when this group of juniors came in and this is something that they had hope to accomplish and they did it."

Congrats to the Lady Raiders. Check out an interview the Sports Shack did with Todd Petty talking about the Tennis team.
