The Texas Tech Lady Raiders minimized their mistakes and maximized their opportunities  Wednesday night during their 66-59 win over Texas.

The Lady Raiders were led offensively by guards Chynna Brown and Monique Smalls. Both players scored 20 points and it was the first time this season the Lady Raiders had two 20-point scorers in the same game.

The first half was dominated by Texas Tech. After the first media timeout, Texas Tech went on a 13-0 run. By the time the under-12 media timeout was taken, Tech was up 23-11. In the first 10 minutes of the game, Tech forced 8 Texas turnovers. At halftime, Texas Tech had an 8 point lead, 35-27.

The Lady Raiders shooting in the game wasn't spectacular, 40% from the field, 25% 3-pointers, 72% free throw; but their high-pressure defense allowed them extra offensive opportunities. The Lady Raiders for 25 turnovers, 14 of them steals. They picked up 27 points off turnovers and 13 fast break points.

Lady Raider head coach Kristy Curry (pictured) picked up her first career win at Texas. It was Texas Tech's first win in Austin since February 26, 2006.

The Lady Raiders record is now (13-4, 3-2). Their next game is Saturday, hosting Kansas at 7p at the United Spirit Arena.
