Patrick Mahomes has developed a knack for evading pressure and throwing bombs, and because of that Texas Tech leads the nation in big plays.

They are also third in the nation in yards per play, behind TCU and Baylor.

Mahomes will have to recover after a tough game against Kansas where he took five sacks after evading pressure and looking like Tony Romo for the first six games of the season.

The element of Mahomes evading pressure and finding players deep is what has put this offense over the top. That will have to continue if the Red Raiders want to be bowl-eligible.

With Devin Lauderdale, Jakeem Grant, Justin Stockton and DeAndre Washington all healthy this week, there will be plenty of opportunity to create some big plays. Those big plays will be pivotal this weekend against Oklahoma on Oct. 24.
