Lubbock, TX (1340TheFan.com) — SportsRadio 1340 The Fan's Rob Brennan had a chance to talk one-on-one with Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville this weekend.

Of the topics discussed, Tuberville knows 2012 has to be better than 2011.  The Red Raider defense is expected to get a major face lift which includes the anticipated great play of junior transfer linebacker Will Smith.  Tuberville likes the leadership at safety and is keeping a sharp eye on cornerback during the preseason to see who will step up as leaders in that position.

Tuberville also spoke about being "in tune" with the athletes of today when it comes to hip-hop and pop culture.  The Red Raider head coach doesn't necessarily admit to liking the style of music his team blares in the locker room, but went on to say he will allow the loud music as long as it's not on for an hour.  He added the players like to listen to music at a different decibel than he does.
