Texas Tech Men’s Basketball Prepping for Season Opener

TexasTech.com

The Texas Tech Men’s Basketball team is preparing to tip-off the 2012-13 hoops season as the Red Raiders host Prairie View A&M Friday night.

Tip-off from the United Spirit Arena is set for 8 p.m.

Texas Tech will be under the guidance of first-year coach Chris Walker, making him the 15th head coach in program history.

The Red Raiders are 12-1 in season openers since the United Spirit Arena opened back in 1999. It will be the third time Tech has opened the season against Prairie View A&M. The Red Raiders topped the Panthers to open the 1995-96 season and then again to kick off the 2000-01 season.

In total Texas Tech and Prairie View A&M have battled five times, with the Red Raiders victorious in all previous meetings
