A Texas Tech ace will not return to the mound for the Red Raiders in 2013. Texas Tech starting pitcher Duke von Schamann has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being selected in the Major League Baseball Draft last week.

von Schamann finished the 2012 season with a 6-4 record in 12 starts with a team leading 2.08 earned run average (ERA) in 86 2/3 innings. In 10 of his 12 starts on the season, von Schamann threw at least 7 innings for the Red Raiders with 3 complete games.

The Red Raiders will be retooling their roster in 2013 as Head Coach Tim Tadlock will look to return the baseball program as a school record 9 Red Raiders were drafted in the 2012 MLB Draft.
