Texas Tech Pounds Baylor 17-5, Clinch Final Spot in Big 12 Baseball Tournament
The Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball team used home runs from Jarrard Poteete and Eric Gutierrez along with four RBI from Devon Conley in Tech’s 17-5 blowout of Baylor last night.
The victory over Baylor and the Texas loss to TCU clinched the 8th and final spot in the Big 12 Tournament for the Red Raiders. Trey Masek (5-1) earned his fifth win of the season throwing seven innings and only giving up two runs.
Masek gave up both runs with a run in the first inning and another in the third inning before settling down and shutting down the Bears.
Tech and Baylor play tonight in Game 2 of their Big 12 Series.
