Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball avoided the sweep and snapped a four-game losing streak as they defeated the TCU Horned Frogs 8-7 at Rip Griffin Park.

Texas Tech starting pitcher Matt Withrow didn't make it out of the 3rd inning throwing only 2 2/3 innings and giving up 5 runs.

Tech rallied from a 7-3 deficit in the 6th inning behind the bats of Eric Gutierrez and Bryant Burleson to start the two out rally. Burleson went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and Gutierrez went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.

The Red Raiders improve to 17-13 on the season and 4-5 in the Big 12 Conference while TCU falls to 11-16 on the season and 3-6 in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders will travel tomorrow for a midweek game against the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque. First pitch from Isotopes Park on Tuesday is set for 3:05 p.m.
