Texas Tech Red Raider John Neely Preseason Awards Continue to Pile Up

For the second year in a row, Texas Tech closer John Neely has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award Watch List (NCBWA). Neely, the right handed closer for Texas Tech, who earned NCBWA All-America honors last season after going 9-1 with a 2.97 ERA.

Neely was also selected as a preseason second team All American by the NCBWA after leading the records to a 25-5 record in games where he appeared.

Neely is looking to have a stellar close to his Texas Tech career, and if the preseason watch lists hes a member of are any indication, this season should be the best in his career.

The Red Raiders season kicks off February 17th against Missouri State.
