The Texas Tech Red Raiders swept Florida Gulf Coast in a two game midweek series with the 14-8 victory at Dan Law Field. The win marked the 100th career victory for Texas Tech head coach Dan Spencer. Texas Tech Also improved to 12-1 at home on the season and 14-8 overall.

The Red Raider offense was the story of the game, tallying 16 hits, and scoring 10 runs for the fourth straight midweek game for the first time since 2005. Jamodrick McGruder went 3-4 with 4 runs and 2 RBI. Barret Barnes, Scott LeJeune, and Reid Redman each had 2 hits on the night.

Tech pitcher Rusty Shellhorn earned the win for the Red Raiders, pitching two shutout innings, allowing just two hits with three strike outs, allowing Tech to put the game out of reach. Shellhorn improved to 4-1 on the season.
