Texas Tech bounced back after losing 2 of 3 games over the weekend to No. 5 Texas A&M in a big way defensively. Stephen Hagen and Barrett Barnes both hit home runs to provide Texas Tech with all of the offense it would need in a 4-1 victory over New Mexico on Tuesday.

The Texas Tech pitching staff also shined with three relievers combining for five scoreless innings and with four solid innings from starter Jamen Parten and holding the Lobos 1 run scored while compiling 11 hits.

New Mexico falls to 10-23 while Tech improves to 21-13. Game 2 of the midweek series starts at 1 p.m. today in Albuquerque.
