Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball used seven shutout innings and 12 strikeouts from starting pitcher Corey Taylor to defeat the Utah Valley Wolverines 6-0 last night at Rip Griffin Park.

Mason Randolph led the Red Raiders at the plate going 4 for 4 with 2 RBI. The Red Raiders improve to 12-7 on the season while Utah Valley falls to 7-10.

The Red Raiders jumped to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning behind an RBI single from Bryant Burleson and fielder's choice from Devon Conley. Tech would score a run in the fourth inning and then three runs in the 8th secure the victory.

Texas Tech now travels to Austin to open Big 12 Conference play against the Texas Longhorns for a three game weekend series.The Longhorns are 11-5 on the season and winners of their last five games.

First pitch from Disch Falk Field is set for 6:35 p.m.
