The Texas Tech Soccer team fell 2-0 to rival Texas A&M in front of a John Walker Soccer Complex attendance record of 2,176

The Red Raiders (8-4-2, 2-1-1 Big 12) and Texas A&M (10-5, 4-1) each had four shots in the first half but neither found the net going into the break.

The Aggies got on the board in the second half in the 47th minute on a goal by Kelley Monogue. She scored with help from the wind holding it up and headed the ball right over Victoria Esson’s hands.

Jessica Fuston and Tiffini Smith led the Tech midfield and covered most of the field for the evening in the hard fought Big 12 showdown.

Tech outshot Texas A&M on the night 12 to 10. Lytle led the team with three shots on the night and Esson made one save on the night.  With a rowdy and record crowd at the John Walker Soccer Complex—Tech pressed for the tie with four forwards and high pressure but it was a counter run from Monogue who sealed the game for the Aggies in the 87th minute with her second goal of the match.

The two goals scored tonight end the Red Raiders shutout streak at seven matches, dating back to the Sept. 9 game against Hofstra, but Stone remained positive about the team’s upcoming games.

The Red Raiders will now travel to Fort Worth for a match with TCU at 7 p.m., on Sunday night.
