The Red Raider soccer team officially began fall practice Wednesday morning at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

Texas Tech is scheduled to open their season in just a little over two weeks with the season-opener against Idaho set for Aug. 17.

The Red Raiders will play one preseason match when the travel to Denver to face Utah on Aug. 11.  Tech returns to the core of last year’s squad that tied for its highest Big 12 finish in program history.

"The preseason is a crucial time for our team," head coach Tom Stone said. "Last year was a great year for us, but this year can be even better. We have a team of upperclassmen that can lead, and I feel like our difference is leadership with seniors and veterans."

The Red Raiders return to majority of last year’s squad which tied its highest Big 12 finish in program history while also setting a new attendance record at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
