The Texas Tech soccer team will have to wait just a little longer for their season to begin as Texas Tech Athletic Department officials were notified on Tuesday that their season opener had been canceled.  The University of New Mexico informed Texas Tech that they will not be making the trip to Lubbock on Friday for the scheduled match.  This cancellation is due to a hazing investigation concerning the New Mexico women's soccer team.

Tech will instead open the 2014 season against the University of Oral Roberts.  The #15 ranked Red Raiders will look to start their season off strong coming off an impressive 2013 season.  First kick for the season opener is set for Sunday at 7pm from the John Walker Soccer Complex on the Texas Tech campus.
