In spite of the rain, Texas Tech Soccer got off to a fast start in the first half en route to a 2-1 victory Friday night in Lubbock over the Oklahoma Sooners.

Texas Tech (9-3, 1-1 Big 12) used goals from Paige Strahan and Jessica Fuston in the first half to pace the Red Raider attack as they led 2-1 at halftime. The Red Raiders outshot the Sooners (4-6-3, 0-2 Big 12) 26-10 in front of 692 fans at the John Walker Soccer Complex where Tech is 5-0 this season.

The scoring began in the 8th minute when Strahan found the net to give Tech a 1-0 lead, but the Sooners responded less than a minute later with a goal at the 8:54 mark in the first half.

Tech would take the lead for good with a 43rd minute goal by Fuston before the half. Texas Tech will host Iowa State (8-5, 0-2 Big 12) on Sunday at 1pm in Lubbock.
