Texas Tech Red Raider Softball used a big  inning in its Louisville Slugger Tournament Friday snapping a four game losing streak. The Red Raiders scored six runs in the sixth inning and held off an Ohio State rally to defeat the Buckeyes 7-4 in Las Vegas, NV.

Raven Richardson gave Tech a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning with a solo home run, but the Buckeyes answered in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single. Holly Gentsch and  Mikey Kenney each drove two runs in the sixth to give Texas Tech a 7-1 lead. Ohio State would rally with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Cara Custer was able to shut down the Buckeyes in relief to secure the win.

Texas Tech will play another game Friday afternoon taking on Long Beach State at 5:45pm. They will two more games Saturday and two more on Sunday to wrap up the tournament.
