Texas Tech Softball finishes 2012 Season with a Top 30 Ranking
Texas Tech Softball finished the season ranked in the Top 30 of two major polls for the 2012 season. Texas Tech finished 26th in the ESPN/USA Softball rankings and 28th in the NFCA Poll.
The Red Raiders completed their third season under the helm of Shannon Hays with a 41-17 record and a third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regionals. Tech also finished with their first winning record in conference play with a 13-10 record and a 5th place finish in the Big 12.
Texas Tech is 121-51 with Hays as head coach for the Red Raiders. Hays won a NAIA National title at Lubbock Christian University in 2008 in the program’s first season of competition.
