Texas Tech Softball Takes First Two Games in Seton Hall Classic
The Texas Tech Red Raiders won both games Friday morning in the Seton Hall Classic in New Jersey extending their winning streak to six games. The Red Raiders (23-7) defeated Monmouth 4-2 in Game 1 of the tournament and Seton Hall 11-0 in 5 innings in Game 2.
Cara Custer threw her first no-hitter in her Texas Tech career in the Seton Hall victory and only the sixth no-hitter in program history. Custer benefited from a potent offense as Tech belted four home runs in the rout of the Pirates. Tech used a nine run third inning to break Seton Hall in the late morning game.
Texas Tech will face Manhattan tomorrow at 8 a.m. CDT and the proceed to the bracket portion of the tournament in South Orange, NJ.
