Now #11 Iowa State beat Tubby Smith and company back on January 4th by a final score of 73-62.  Jaye Crockett led Tech in that game with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.  On the year, Crockett has been the Red Raiders most consistent player as he is averaging

They come into this game with the most potent offense in the Big 12, averaging a league-best 84.7 points per game.  Saturday’s game will mark the 11th time this season the Red Raiders have faced an RPI Top 40 team with the Cyclones #11 ranking.  Melvin Ejim is the Cyclones top player averaging 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.  He is coming off an impressive 48 point performance back on February 8th in a win against TCU.

With a win over Iowa State, Texas Tech would move into a tie for sixth place in the league and move to .500 at 6-6 in Big 12 play.  It would be the first time since 2008, that the Red Raiders have won six conference games in a season.  Tip off for that game is set for 12:30pm on Saturday from James H. Hilton Coliseum in Ames and can be seen on ESPN 3.
