Despite a change of venue, nothing could stop the Texas Tech Red Raider Tennis team Friday afternoon at The Falls Athletic Club against the Tulane Green Wave.

The No. 22 Red Raiders shutout the Green Wave 7-0.

The Red Raiders started the season playing indoors at The Falls Athletic Club due to the windy weather conditions in the area.

The Red Raiders started the onslaught by taking all three doubles matches and going up 1-0. The No. 2 doubles team of Gonzalo Escobar and Victor Manzini winning 8-3 followed by 8-6 victory by Francisco Zambron and Raphael Pfister. The top Tech doubles of Raony Carvalho and Rafael Garcia finished off Tulane 8-6.

In singles action, No. 23 ranked Escobar and Zambon got the first two single wins, extending the Red Raiders lead to 3-0 winning in straight sets, at the No. 2 and No. 4 spot. Escobar beat Young 6-1, 6-3 and Zambon defeated Bernstein 6-2, 6-1.

Tech then finished off Tulane with the No. 3 spot Garcia dropping Wali, 6-4, 6-4. At the No. 1 spot Raony Carvalho won 6-4, 6-2. The No. 5 and No. 6 spots of Manzini and Pfister finished off Tulane with a 6-2, 6-1, and Pfister completing the shutout by winning 7-6 (8), 6-3.

The Red Raiders return to action on Sunday against Denver at 9 a.m.
