On Monday's Sportsline, we spoke with Texas Tech Track and Field Head Coach Wes Kittley as he and the men's and women's teams head up to Des Moines, Iowa for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Kittley is bringing 20 qualifying athletes to this year's meet. He said that the most important thing for these athletes is for them to make the finals and make some points, and that there is an "excellent" chance that athletes on both side could bring home some medals. However, he thinks that both teams will face some stiff competition from Florida and Arkansas on the men's side, and for A&M and Oregon on the women's side. Looking forward to next year's teams, Kittley is disappointed to lose some "tremendous" seniors, but remains optimistic about a "really good" recruiting class coming in next year.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships begin Wednesday, June 6th, and will conclude on Saturday, June 9th.
